The Yerevan Group on legal assessment of the Armenian Genocide in Azerbaijan *** calls on state, public organizations, mass media and citizens of Armenia and other countries to adopt the following theses:
— In Azerbaijan from the first day of the formation of this state in 1918 a genocidal policy was carried out against the Armenian people in different forms with bloody phases in 1918, 1920, 1988-92,
— The crimes of Azerbaijan against the Armenian people are in accordance with the provisions of the UN Convention of 1948 and should be qualified only as Genocide,
— The genocidal policy and acts of the Armenian Genocide in the two Turkish pro-terrorist aggressor states of Turkey and Azerbaijan are a single process,
— This policy of Azerbaijan continues in our days, and in the case of a passive attitude towards it, will inevitably lead and leads to new and new crimes in the region, as it was in the April aggression of 2016 with the numerous atrocities of the Azerbaijani-Turkish-IGIL military,
— It is necessary to give at the legislative level a clear legal assessment of genocide policy of Azerbaijan and to recognize the fact of the Armenian Genocide in Azerbaijan, as well as ethnocide and patricide,
— It is necessary to take this into account in the foreign policy of Armenia, including not allowing the equalizing, symmetrical attitude of international bodies to the aggressor and the object of aggression, without allowing distortion of history, the essence of the question and Truth.
With the aim of achieving a full legal evaluation of the genocidal policy and the Armenian Genocide by Azerbaijan and considering this topic a priority, nationwide, we urge:
— To support the initiative and activities of the Yerevan Group, assist in its work, and also become its full participant.
*** — by “Azerbaijan” is meant three republics: Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (28.5.1918-28.4.1920), Azerbaijan SSR (28.4.1920-30.8.1991), Azerbaijan Republic (from 30.8.1991), as well as a part of the territory of Transcaucasian democratic federative republic, the Baku and Elizavetpol provinces (22.4.1918-26.5.1918).
