On April 2, 2018, two years have passed since the treacherous and criminal attack of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces with the participation of Turkish units on the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh Republic), on peaceful settlements. This aggression was accompanied by traditional for Azerbaijan war crimes, which was reflected in the Report of the Ombudsman (Human Rights Commissioner) of the Republic of Artsakh.
The April war lasted four days. The Defense Army of Artsakh rebuffed the aggressor with the cost of lives of hundred of young soldiers and officers.
On April 2, 2018, activists of the Armenian community of St. Petersburg, along with cadets and officers of the Armenian Armed Forces, who study in the city, visited the Armenian cemetery. Hundreds of outstanding figures, including and the Hero of Artsakh, General Christopher Ivanyan rest in this cemetery.
The grave of General Ivanyan is a kind of symbolic Yerablur (the name of a Military Pantheon in Yerevan) in St. Petersburg. At this place community activists commemorate such Armenian heroes as Monte, Leonid Azgaldyan and other.
On April 2, 2018 a special event was held in a memory of the heroes of April war of 2016, it started with an Armenian National Anthem and with participation of Colonel Artur Barseghyan, Ashot Nersisyan, Karen Shaboyan and others.

After action at the cemetery, a tableful was held in one of the restaurants of St. Petersburg «Odjakh», during which they remembered many heroes, talked about the high spirit in the victorious Armed Forces of Armenia and Artsakh, as well as discussed the issues of patriotic education, the Russian-Armenian strategic alliance, about unity of the whole Armenian people, who, as one, will give a crushing rebuff to any enemy. During the feast the participants called to Armenia and Artsakh and talked with fighting friends, greeting and strengthening the common will.
