On October 2, 2017, a meeting of the initiative group on the legal recognition of the fact of the Armenian Genocide in Azerbaijan was held in the press center of the “Noyan Tapan” news agency in Yerevan (Armenia).

The initiator and organizer of the event is Vahan Babakhanyan, the chairman of the «Armenian Comradeship» (Saint Petersburg, Russia), the deputy of the National Assembly (Parliament) of the Republic of Western Armenia. The announcement was posted on the Facebook on September 27.

Preparatory work was done for the meeting, in particular, a book entitled «The genocide policy and acts of the Armenian Genocide in Azerbaijan and Turkey — a single process: 100 years without a legal assessment» (62 pages) was compiled and published, in which 200 statements on the topic of 70 public figures were collected. The organizer held dozens of meetings and discussions in Armenia and Artsakh with representatives of state and public organizations.

The meeting lasted 3 hours, a video was recorded.
