On Sunday, January 21, 2018, an event was held in the Armenian community of St. Petersburg, connected with several memorable dates.

These dates were reflected in the poster before the event:
- the 98th anniversary of the de facto recognition by the Allied Powers of the state of Armenia (including Western Armenia). The event in Yerevan on Jan 20 http://wa.nt.am/archives/7826
- the 28th anniversary of the genocidal acts in Baku (January 13-20, 1990)
- a memorial day (19.1.1990) of the National Hero of Armenia Movses Gorgisyan
- a memorial day (19.1.2007) of Hrant Dink
On the last day before the event, the sad news came about the death of prominent azatamartik and public figure Sarkis Atspanyan. The participants also honored the memory of this big Armenian Patriot.
Before the beginning of the event, the participants put the flowers at the khachkar (cross-stone) near the Armenian church.
The event was organized by Vahan Babakhanyan («Armenian Comradeship») and was held in the cultural center «Vernatun» with the technical support of the youth organization «Nor Serund».
During the event there were screened the fragments of films about Hrant Dink (Gohar Martirosyan and Shant company), about Movses Gorgisyan…
At the end of the event also was shown a video message by Saida Ohanyan’s about Karo Paylan.
The event was attended by:
— Karen Mkrtchyan, the chairman of the Armenian community of St. Petersburg,
— Adelina Ashotovna Mnatsakanova, the chairman of charitable organization «Lastochka» (Swallow),
activists of the community.
Few participants also took part remotely and spoke:
— Aram Khachatryan (Moscow), Coordination Council of Russian-Armenian Organizations
— Sergey Andreevich Madatyan (Moscow), Major-General, Ataman of the International Armenian Cossack Association (IACS)
— Armen Ter-Sargsyan, Chairman of the Parliament of the Republic of Western Armenia
